Thank you, James Horner

The news about James Horner hit me pretty hard.  I didn't know him, but he's always been one of my favorite composers (even when I was little), and his music has been a part of my life and memories.  His music is forever tied to my childhood and growing up.  When we watch movies, a lot of our feelings come from the music that accompanies the scenes.  James Horner knew how to make scenes unforgettable.  He knew how to skewer you in the heart with sadness or elation.  His music has defined some of the most memorable movies of our time. He has done so much work, and all of it is worth mention, but I thought I would do my tiny part in honoring him by sharing my favorite scores from my journey to adulthood that James Horner created.  These are the soundtracks of my life (and I am sure many of yours as well).

The Land Before Time:
"Mooootheeeeer!"  "Littlefoot, do you remember the way to the Great Valley?   I'll always be with you, even if you can't see me." :'(

"A dog can't make the journey alone, but maybe...a wolf can."

 "I'll never let go."

 "Can I keep you?"

"You ARE great!"

Fievel Goes West:
"Somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight, someone's thinking of me, and loving me tonight."

  1. I didn't realize he was involved in SO MANY movies! What a great loss :(

Also - I just found out about your hospital stay in May and the surgery this month and I wish you a speedy recovery!

    Sending healing thoughts your way.

  2. Thank you for sharing this Heather.

  3. Oh no heather, the little foot line gets me every time! So sad :( Thank you putting all these amazing soundtracks together!

  4. Greatest of all time rip I listen to his scores at work all the time

  5. ElephantInTheRoomASMR here: What a body of work. Some of this stuff is seriously tuggin' at the heart-strings, need to hold it together. :) thx Heather for bringing back the memories.
